Managing Partner
Emma Ignjic
Emma has over two decades of experience in collaborating with community conservation programs, working in universities, Aboriginal organisations, NGO’s and the philanthropic sector. As a qualified Conservation Coach (Healthy Country Planning Facilitator), she has significantly contributed to the development and evolution of the Healthy Country Planning process in Australia. Emma has played a pivotal role in co-delivering numerous HCP trainings for Indigenous ranger groups and international practitioners. She is also experienced and proficient in operating Miradi – the software platform for the Open Standards and Healthy Country Plans.
Her professional portfolio includes the facilitation of various Healthy Country Planning projects spanning northern and central Australia. Moreover, she has provided invaluable assistance in operationalising these plans by creating results chains and establishing Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) programs.
While working with Bush Heritage Australia she led the initiation, development, and consolidation of five formal Aboriginal partnerships that supported management planning, independent governance arrangements and securing funding to implement conservation actions and programs (eg. Indigenous Protected Areas) over 5 million hectares of high conservation cultural landscapes.

Terry Mahney
Terry is trained in Open Standards/Healthy Country Planning and has led the development of Healthy Country Plans in Central Australia and the Northern Territory. He is also an experienced ecologist who has undertaken numerous ecological monitoring and assessment projects with Indigenous Groups and within the National Conservation estate.
Terry was employed by the Central Land Council as part of their innovative Land Resource Assessment and Planning team from 1994 to 1998. This team was at the forefront of introducing and using Participatory Planning approaches to working with Indigenous landowners to develop land use plans for their properties.
From 1998 to 2007 Terry was employed by the Caring for Country Unit at Northern Land Council (NLC) to develop Indigenous land management programs. Programs were developed and supported using participatory planning.
Additionally, Terry is an experienced Land Management and Ranger coordinator and has worked with numerous Indigenous groups across central and north Australia.
